Creating a Sleep Sanctuary: Environment Matters
Your bedroom environment directly affects your sleep quality far more than most people realize. The ideal sleep temperature is between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit. A room that is too warm interferes with your body natural temperature drop during sleep. Darkness signals to your brain that it is time to produce melatonin. Even small light sources like a charging indicator or a crack under the door can disrupt this signal. Noise should be either silent or consistently masked with white noise or a fan. Intermittent sounds like traffic or a partner snoring are more disruptive than constant background noise. Your bed should be associated only with sleep, not with work, watching television, or scrolling through your phone.
Small consistent actions create the most lasting changes. Thank you for being part of our community.
